After a long time away from school, we have been focusing on reconnection in the Harbour. This half term has been all about nurture, good mental health and positivity.
Reconnecting with friends (old and new!)
We have been working hard on interacting with each other in a kind and considerate way through sharing resources, playing games and using our words. We are finding out about each other’s special interests and other things we have in common.
Reconnecting with our environment
Being outside is really great for our wellbeing. Forest School sessions have been really enjoyable as we see how the season changes and we’ve also developed a Bird Hide in our garden to appreciate nature around us as well as making bird feeders. This has linked nicely with our work on Owl Babies and The Owl Who was Afraid of the Dark.
Reconnecting through play
We have followed a theme of ORANGE for part of this half term and the children have enjoyed a variety of activities relating to this. These have included juicing oranges, smashing pumpkins, mixing paint to make a range of shades of orange, collecting autumn leaves, baked bean messy play and throwing and catching orange fabric.
