The Children have enjoyed reading our book Elmer this half term writing character descriptions for Elmer using lots of fantastic adjectives. We enjoyed collaging our own Elephants using bright coloured tissue paper squares.
We had great fun baking and eating chocolate muffins and cookies for our Fairtrade event. We learnt all about Fairtrade and how important it is to support the farmers, so we were really happy to raise lots of money from our cake sale.
We had a fabulous World Book Day dressed as animals and did lots of exciting activities , like designing a book mark, making a giant Elmer for are classroom display, writing about our animal, participating in a parade and acting out Elmer during helicopter stories.
We enjoyed learning about animals in Science, researching all about them in groups and creating our own non-fiction posters. Class 1KM welcomed some new pets in the form of 5 stick insects. We enjoyed learning about what they eat and spent a lot of time watching their interesting behaviours.
In Geography we talked about physical and human features in our environment and that of the Ivory Coast, linking it to our Fairtrade learning. We enjoyed using Google maps to locate Africa and the Ivory Coast. We compared it to Warwickshire and Studley.
We enjoyed dancing with Richard in P.E, learning lots of new moves and putting them into a routine to create a dance.
