What a weird and wonderful half term!
This half term we enjoyed reading our first class chapter book - Fantastic Mr. Fox by Roald Dahl. We looked carefully at the characters and the descriptive language in the book before writing our own character descriptions.
In Science we explored different animals and their habitats. We looked at animals in different countries and then focussed on the animals in Africa. We researched the 'big 5' and designed our own national park.
Our big focus this half term was Fairtrade! We learnt all about why it is important for the farmers in Ivory Coast to get a fair price for their products. We developed our baking skills and made lots of cakes and biscuits ready for our own Fairtrade event.
We invited the grown ups into school and served them drinks and chocolate treats. We raised a massive £103 for the Fairtrade charity!
World Book Day was just around the corner! Everyone enjoyed dressing up as their favourite character from a story. We shared stories with each other, made bookmarks, acted scenes of stories and played lots of games!
